Unbelievably two of my friends have required the Air Ambulance in driving and horse riding incidents

Pictures taken when the RDDIA visited the Air Ambulance base to see first hand, the nature of the challenge tasked to the Team there.

The crew can call Flight control owers with a red alert call which can stop jumbos and even the queen from landing as they take off

The helicopter they are hiring these days is the fastest available and travels over 200 miles an hour !

The Driving Instructors waited patiently for the return of the air craft following its response to three seperate incidents on just one call out.

As soon as they landed they jumped out and restocked, refuelled, washed and reloaded before they had their breakfast!

2012 is the year that the Rutland and District Driving Instructors Association lends its support to the charity-run Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance. Doing its bit to ensure that the drivers of tommorrow understand the perils as well as the pleasures of driving and hopefully avoiding the need for services from the Air Crew; The Rutland Driving Instructors have pledged their support and involvment in the continuing challenge of raisng the annual £1.7million required to keep the Helicopter airbourne.

Keep an eye out on my pages for forthcoming Fundraisng Events.
